Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 2001 block heater question

Do all trucks come with block heaters? If not, how hard is it to add one? I am purchasing a truck from Texas and the dealer says he doesn't see a cord for one.

I always thouoght that it was standard on all CTDs. It should be right at the core support on the right side. they sometimes get pushed back under the battery on the right side.

You should look just back from the oil filter it should be there, or atleast a plug where one should go.

My 01 came standard with one and I use the crap out of it in the winter time.

Look for the plug between the passenger headlight and the radiator.

The heater plug was standard... ... if not there then it was taken off.

If its not there its very easy to add. Just a big plug with a heating element sticking into the block.
