My new 2500 just hit the dealer’s lot Friday so I had to check it out that night. To my surprise it had all the items that some of the others are missing. The truck was made in Mexico. Not sure how, but I am happy that it does.

1. Lighted vanity mirror

2. Disc brakes in the rear

3. Rear cup holders

4. Insulation under the hood

5. Rear grab handle on passenger side.

I also noticed that it has the Rassinni Mercedes trucks spring.

What is that rassinni mercedes truck spring? My truck has all that you listed but inever heard of that spring.

The Rassinni is a spring manufacture; they are used on Mercedes trucks. I don’t know why DC switched. If I had to guess I’d guess because they get them at a better price, but who knows. You can tell if you have the Rassinni rear leaf springs by looking at them, the name will be painted in yellow on the springs. The unit I test-drove before I ordered this one was still on the lot and it did not have the springs. I don’t really know if these springs will be better or worse, but it does seem to ride nice. Keep in mind it now has a total of 18 miles on it. Time will tell

My truck doesn't have the rassini springs. Mine was made in Aug 00. If your truck rides nice now it will get better IMO. Mine has 6,000 miles and is just starting to ride half decent. Probably those springs.

I'm not particularly fond of the rear discs... I alike the adjustablity of the drums. I have driven both, and to be honest, there's not much difference in stopping power.

WestTN... there was a post on this just a few weeks ago... bottom line for that guy was that his dealer told him that "dodge retains the right to change/add/delete options at any moment", therefore he was not entitled to them. I believe he was told to check his option sheet, and if it named that part specifically, Dodge would put it on... otherwise, so sorry. .

Hopefully, your dealer will treat you better.

Back in Dec 98' before I knew the difference between a Cummins and a PSD, I bought the Dodge only because of the standard features available on the SLT. At the time the only way to get them on the Ford was the top of the line trim package w/ leather seats, etc. And dealer didn't have any in stock anyway.

Dodge had everything I wanted, in stock and in all colors. Seems Dodge has always had a good selection on the lots. In fact I couldn't find a basic trim truck other than the work trucks.

Looking back, I lucked out in my engine choices for sure!!!

I hope DC does not change this trend in the future.
