2001 Dodge Ram 2500 6 speed engine stalls when stopping[/h]
2001 cummins 5.9 HO 6speed truck has a weak start but starts every time push in your clutch put it in gear and start to drive down the road runs and shifts fine through all gears coming to a stop light if you hold your clutch down to attempt to stop the truck gets an erratic idle and then dies or just dies with out the erratic idle i did experience water in fuel when I bought the truck. VP44 is almost new has a phatshaft 75mm turbo fass 220 snow meth kit it's not hooked up when I bought it but was previously hooked up. Head studs and fire ringed I'm kinda new to the mechanics of a diesel but do great with gasoline engines any help would be appreciated thank you and god bless

Sounds like you may have a pilot bushing/bearing comming apart or hanging up causing the transmission input shaft to not be completely uncoupled from the engine when the clutch is depressed. Had this happen right after i bought my 99 with NV 4500 at 99k and i fought it for a while before I faced the inevitable and upon pulling the transmission +transfer case back, i found the pilot bearing was a mass of metal powder amd was trying to weld itself in place every time I was at the stop sign. Put a new pilot bearing in and cleaned the input shaft with emery went on only to replace the whole clutch package with NAPA (china chincy) that lasted about a year until slippage started and now has southbend with over 225k. PAY ME NOW or PAY ME LATER!!
