I tried but went another route.
I too wanted the clear lenses for my 98. 5. Mine did not have anything from factory so to get the look both outside and inside the cab of stock I had to do several things. The kit for the 98 comes in two seperate boxes/prices. One kit has the gray surrounds, lights and brackets (ribbed lenses), and I can't remember if any wiring came with it. The other half of the kit has the stock switch, new dash cover plate, and harness. I ended up robbing pieces from each kit... brackets, stock switch, dash cover plate and bumper bolts. Even if your dads truck doesn't have fog lights, all trucks have the wiring from the dash to the lights. All you need is the switch and lights.
Now that everything was there all I needed was the lights... ... ... I choose to go aftermarket with a set of CATZ MSC's. Fit onto stock bracket... . and yes even with AT they fit, just less room to maneuver.
I'm real happy with the results. Looks like stock both from the outside and from the inside with the stock switch but, with increased visibility and brightness.
If I was to do it over I would piece it all together from junk yard pieces but would still have bought the CATZ lights.
As always IMHO
