Check Valve

ThrottleJockey said:
12 psi is normal. It will open the check valve at about 14 psi.

Welcome to the TDR.

Is that on the LP? I'm having problems currently with my LP. Have 16 PSI cruising but drops to 9-10 PSI when at a stop or say under 1100 rpm's... New LP in route because of this situation. Not exactly sure where to go next, possibly try a pusher of some sort but going to relocate the pump back by the tank first & see what kind of results I yield. Fass & Rasp are looking better all the time except the friggin cost of either... .

Yeah Clay, you got it, I'd try a new one, too.

I have a FASS on order, but I'm like you, I like the RASP. All but the fact it STILL needs an electric lift pump to work.

$1500. 00 bucks and the POS Dodge lift pump is still on the truck.

on the RASP the stock L/P is only used to start the truck

and it shuts off and is there if a back-up is needed

a stock LP should last a life time

IMP its the only way to go!!!

My carter has been on for 8mths or so and its still doing awesome !!

EEP has them in kit form for your truck the kit includes a relay to only let the Carter run when the LP is running ... I paid $165 for the kit

You do not "need" the stock lp for the RASP it will work fine without one. The stock lp is only used when pressure drops below 8psi (I think that is the pressure the Hobbs switch is set for) which would be at startup, or if you wanted to prime the system say after a filter change or as a backup if the the Rasp belt broke. At least that is what Bill K told me before I purchased mine. And I can say it will definitely start fine without the lp as part of Bills install instructions were to run the rasp a couple days with the lp electrically disconnected.
