Archived 2001 Making Loud Clacking noise

2001. 5 CTD 4x4 auto 135k miles making loud clacking noise near back of motor. I noticed that the rear upper and lower exhaust manifold bolt fell out. No oil in radiator, oil looks fine, and nothing odd looking coming out the exhaust. HELP!!

Could be an exhaust leak. I've heard gassers leak and sound like a rod knock. Get new gaskets and missing bolts then see how it sounds.

Number four has hole in piston! - Bone stock

Ouch! Definitly the worst kind of exhaust leak . . . Sorry to hear. Good Luck.
