I became owner of one this past weekend. It looks like it was hardly ever used and even has some of the new smell in it. I don't know all of the options that are on it, even after crawling in and on and underneath it for the better part of an hour and a half. It is in mint condition. The tires didn't even look road worn. I'm interested in opinions on the Montana series. I've had my eye on them now for two years. Had our travel trailer not died in our wreck a couple of weeks ago, it was going to be the trade bait for a Montana about two years from now. We had to go with a used model, but this thing looks like new. It has alot of options, but I don't know all of them, i. e. hot water heater size, and some other small things. I did a NADA search on it and the retail on this model year with the options I know about was between 32K and 40K. Model year 2002's are going between 41K and 44K. I paid 30K out the door.

Congratulations!

I also own a 2002 2955RL Montana and we love it.

If you're looking for some specifics email me and I fill you in if I can.

John. I have been dealing with Blaine Jensen RV in Utah for the same model (2955). Of course there will be differences, due to the extras that are added, but so far we are at $33,000 plus tax and license, etc.

Sounds like you got a good deal.

We have fellow members of our iRV2.com Texas Boomers RVing group who just bought a new Montana 5ver. They think it's great - it does look really nice! ;)

We have a 2880 RL. Love it to death. BTW the hot water tank is probably 10 gal. I haven't ran out of hot water yet. Friends of ours want to buy the the 2955 they measured it to see it's length and it is some where in the neighborhood of 33 ft.

Montana 2955

Hi John,

We own a 2001 Montana 2955. It's a great fiver. Here aer some specs for ya,

GVWR=12420 Gross Dry WT=9030 Hitch=2020

Ext Lenght= 31'10" Ext Height= 12'6" Carrying Cap= 3390

The extended hitch adds 9" to the length.

Inside the cupboard above the sink will be the weight tag, this give actual weight with options installed, mine is 9420. 10 gal water heater is optional as well as the ceiling fan and one chair. Standard is a 30 amp service. Fresh water is 50 gal, Black, grey, & galley holding tanks are all 38 gal.

If you have any questions, I'll try to answer them for you.

RBales. Thanks for the info on the weight tag, I haven't seen that yet. I'll check it out tonight when I get home. I did a NADA check on the 2955, with all of my options, and it's low value is in the neighborhood of 35. 5 K. High value - 43K. I definitely got one helluva deal. I'm glad I went in to kick tires the day that I did, instead of waiting till the next day.
