I just put a new injection pump and a lift pump on this truck (01 6spd 4x4) to fix the problem, and it has not even helped it I also changed out the injectors with another set of good stock ones and a fuel filter. . The truck revs up really slow and will not run 70mph flat on the floor the only codes in the truck are 0500 and a 0577 I cant seem to find the 0577 anywhere and the 0500 is speed sensor. . Any hlp would be greatly appreciated. . Thanks 573 202 9999

The map sensor can fail and not set a code. With an ECM thinking you have a low boost # it will not allow more fueling. If it is sluggish on take off but not as bad at around 2k rpm ck the map sensor.

NO the truck does not smole at all and it runs great at idle but it just revs up vewry slow almost like slow motion, its really bad. . I was thinking that we took the map sensor out of my pulling and tried it and it did not help either. When I first put this new vp44 on it I thought it was bad so I had them send me another one and it does the same as the first one. Heck I dont what to do with the crazy thing. .

are you sure you installed the pump correctly ..... the key on the pump slid into the keyway on the gear?

did you use the key on the new pump?... . you don't want to use the old key way

i am not saying you did anything wrong... . just trying to find out whats going on

At this point you NEED to run it with a scanner that shows sensors, boost and EGT gauges, fuel pressure and vacuum gages on the pump inlet side.

I just recently expierienced sumthin very similar with my 02'. How did your fuel filter look when you changed it? I ended up having to drop my fuel tank and dump the nasty fuel out of it... it came out black! Some clean fuel and a new filter was all it needed! It wouldnt even do 45mph on flat ground... and to think i was going to trailer it 350 miles the next day to get a new injection pump!

Sounds like my truck when my EZ was throwing a Map sensor low voltage error. Cheap place to start but I had a low voltage map sensor error...

I would say you need to fix the VSS first and then look at the MAP. It sounds like your truck is in limp mode.

Ok today the 26th. . I have already took all of the electronics off of my 01 pulling truck to fix the problem and it is still there I have no idea what the heck to do?? How do you properly check the map voltage?? Thaks TJ 573 202 9999
