Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 2001 over heating

went on a trip and every hill It got hot, to the white line. I read the other post of the 2001 ho, Just wondering If there Is something else I could check, sounds like the clutch fan was working and It was 102-105 the whole trip but It has never done that before and help would be great thanks

I think as long as you stay in the white line, you're ok. I have the same issue, and the tech at the dealer said that's ok. However, I'm having a cooling system service done on tuesday.

I guess I was a little over the white line on the gauge , not for verry long (a few minutes) and I just had my coolant changed and pulling 10,000 pounds, anyone with some Ideas

10,000 pounds on hills will do that!! Especially w/ fuel mods.

I just had Colorado Diesel service the radiator, they pulled it out, and pressure washed it. They said it was pretty clogged up. They told me that they have people complaining about overheating, and after they do a pressure wash, it solves the problem.

My dad's 99 had this problem too. Between the intercooler and the rad (on the rad itself) was way clogged, mostly towards the bottom. We rigged a garden hose to a 20" x 1/4" piece of copper tubing with a bend at the end to wash the crap out. Pressure washer wouldnt have done any good without taking the rad out. Gotta be careful of the fins when pressure washing too. . too much pressure will bend the snot outa them.

I had a problem over heating last year during the summer months and came to find out the thermastat had parts of the rubber comming apart and getting stuck in it causing it to stick open and not allowing the coolant in the radiator to cool down before returning to the engine. Also the new thermastat I bought from mopar was a revised thermastat. Since I replaced it I havn't had the temp. gauge go past the middle
