2001 4x4 quad 3:55 auto

16. 4mpg with new filters 16. 0 dirty filters running 75 on winter blend. stock tires. Iwas just checking out the tsbs and was wondering if anyone has been reflashed for the cold idle.

also noticed the tach and speedo jump a little bit when cruising whats up with that? were would they put a reflash sticker? next to the fire wall? not much of a dodge fan but love the cummins motor. Last dodge was a pos. any info on updates and what to look for would be appreciated. Also is there any clubs in C. N. Y

reflash sticker

Sounds like we basically have the same truck. I had the reflash for the cold idle but it never took so I dont know about the tach jump at speed. The dealer put the reflash sticker right next to the hood latch on the structural member that goes over the radiator. Its real obvious if its there. Its about 3 inch by 2 inch and has both comuter type print and hand writing on it. Should say what was done, when and why. I'm not sure if this is a standard locaiton though or if the stealer just put it there for convinience.

Hope this helps, atleast finding the sticker. By the way mine is starting to peel off so your may have been there at one time and fell off.

I have a small sticker on the ECM on the left side of the engine. I had the low power in OD TSB done and it helped quite abit. Chris

sticker

Holy crap that means that the Stealer actually did something RIGHT on my truck. Re flash stick right next to the hood latch!Who'd thunk it?

I havent found any stickers yet. Also notice the tempature wants to run just below 190* running 73mph on the thruway . It wont get much hotter un less I really get the turbo spooled up,and run it hard. Does that seem normal? Outside tempature was about 40-50*

i would say that this is normal for these trucks. we have great cooling capacity and when temps get cool especially in winter time temps, the truck will not carry much heat. last winter i bblocked off part of the radiator in mine ( the old cardboard thing). check the classifieds, someone makes winter grill guards for your truck. i do not have them so can not say good or bad.

hope this helps.

bucket,

190-195 is a good temp. Pulling my trailer up hills only gets it to 195 even when the outside air temp in in the 100's. The only time it ever went higher was when I was running petroleum oil instead of syn. The most I have ever seen is ~200 and the cooling fan came on and knocked back to 190.

R,

Andy
