I'm a new owner/member. I did a search on this topic, and found no results...
When looking at the tach on my 2001 2500, I noticed that there are 3 marks between 1000 rpm and 1500 rpm. And the same from 1500 to 2000 rpm, and so on. So logically, the middle mark would be halfway between 1500 and 2000 rpm; i. e. 1750 rpm. Therefore each mark represents 125 rpm. I guess I just assumed they were 100 rpm each. Kinda weird thinking... 1500, 1625, 1750, 1875, 2000.
Thus the last white mark is 3250 rpm.
Has this been discussed before? Was anyone else thinking they were 100 rpm each? What is the advantage of this non-standard marking?
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks, Tim
