Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 2001 transfer case capacity question

I can't seem to find the fluid capacity for my 2001 auto trans 4X4 HD transfer case. Can anyone tell me how many quarts it takes please?



Also, I live in the HOT SO CAL high desert. Should, or could, I use M1 75/90 gear lube instead of ATF type 4?

NV241 2. 18 L (4. 61 pts. )
NV241 HD 3. 08 L (6. 51 pts. )

3. 5 quarts. Fill it with ATF+4 until it flows out of the fill plug.
