The 2000 model year was cut short. My truck was manufacted in Feb 2000 (Ordered in Jan 2000) but it is a 2001 truck.

Should be the 235hp engine as long as your a 5 speed or Auto. It will say on your sticker... if you still have it?

The horsepower rating of your Cummins Engine will be stated on the "data plate" along with manufacture date, firing order, fuel rate and Engine serial number, which is located on the aluminum gear housing (driver side, behind belt, under throttle area).

If its a 2002 Model Year, it should be a 235hp/460 ft lb (unless its a 6 speed HHP 245/505ft lb).

Hope this helps!!

I have always wondered if the early 2001 (without disk brakes) has the 235hp that was advertised for the 2001 model. I know my 2001 (which has disk brakes) states it has 235hp.

I agree with Robby. Who cares what it is stock... stock is no fun!

All of the 2001 automatic trucks, wether it be drum or disk brakes, are rated at 235hp 460tq.

The 98. 5 through 2000's were the 215hp.

I think the 2000 Model had both 215,and 235hp in the auto's. I have an early 2000,its a 215hp,a friend has a late 2000,im almost positive its a 235hp auto. Ill have to check his plate.

Thanks Snowman

I loking to purchase an EZfor Christas and trying to determi which I need, I work overseas and will only be at the house over Christmas

Thanks for ll the help to everyone. This site is my spare time in camp.

Snow man,

The 235hp/automatic truck for the 2000 model year did not exsist in the US. If you go back and look at the chart on Fritz's site, you'll see they forgot to list the 2000 manual engine and listed the 2000 automatic engine twice... obviously a print mistake.

Jblock,

I'm assuming you have a 2000? You'll need the EZ for the 98-2000 engine *and* you'll need the flat datalink plug adapter for the 2000-2001 engine.

215 or 235??

Regarding horsepower, did they make any internal changes when upping the hsp. , or is it all done with the pump ecm, etc. ??Did they change anything in the trans. ,etc. If it's all external mods, who cares , just add an EZ or puck or whatever and you have better than what the factory put out?? Besides, it drives you crazy with the early this, late that, 2000, late, early 2001, jeez!!!
