2001 with auto found help for OD power

Well this is in regard to "help no power" posted by butugly. Since I felt the same as he with the power situation with the automatic I got on the phone and called 2 dealers hear in Minot and Bismarck. After 30 min on the phone I was told this by the tech there> In the 2001 cummer They must have boosted the power? So when the truck shifts from 3-4 it cuts the engine from 235 to 215 hp and 460 to about 430 or so torque. All you have to do is go to the dealer and tell them you want the update to make the truck run full power in all gears. Also Chad said check the hoses to the air cooler, I did mine I did tieghten a few of them they were not loose but not exactly real tight either. Hopes this helps a few of you auto guys with the same complaint!!!

Cool! Thanks for the update. I also experienced the strange phenomenon of losing power in OD.

Do you by any chance know the TSB number?

Talked to the dealer again today. . said there is an update for loss of power. Can't wait to get it done.

Anyone got a TSB number yet? I called my local dealer and he has never heard of the TSB#, but said to bring it in and he would look up the module number and see if there was anything he could do. Perhaps that will flag something for him?
