Question:

1-When I push down the OD lockout button, does this cause my Torque convertor to stay unlocked, and my trans to stay out of 4th gear?

It seems like it does both, No 4th and no lockup.

If this is the case, can I (I know I can) setup a switch so I can just "lock out" the converter, but still allow 4th gear operation?

When I am doing 1400 rpm, in 4th, locked up converter, going up a hill, I get that pulsating or what ever the hell you call it feeling.

When I push the OD lockout button, the RPM's go up way to high for what I like. I would like to allow 4th , but no convertor lockup (I think)

Or will this cause over heating of the trans while towing?

When you hit the O/D off button, you're locking out O/D, but the converter will still lock up. I'd think running in O/D for long periods of time would cause a hellacious overheat problem.

Guess I got to drive it more, but when I push OD lockout, it feels like the convertor never locks. I have to make a run to my buddies shop later this week to use his press on a Muncie M21 I got on the work bench, guess I will take the truck and play with it some more.

O/D

I do like driving with o/d off in town driving! The only time I use o/d is if im going to be over 50 MPH for more than a minute. Obviously long trips and highway driving I use it but constant shifting in and out of O/D is no better on the clutches and converter than any thing else! Also no heavy towing unless up to constant speed. IMO
