2002 Crew due out in January; I'm holding off on my Duramax purchase!

According to Pickuptruck.com the new 2002 Dodge is due to debut in January, complete with crew cab. Other sources tell me of a stronger auto transmission (maybe something from Daimler?), so I'm holding off on my Duramax/Allison purchase!

jsimpson, what is the price range of the Duramax, being the first year it may be a good buy. But you have to contend with new year model problems. The Chevy has always reminded me of a ladies vehicle. But no guts, no glory.

jsimpson, get ready for what will seem like a really long wait. At least that was my experiance when I ordered my then new body, club cab, 3500 4whl drive back in 95. Ordered the first week the system would accept orders on the new combination, (club cab 1 ton was the new part) that was Sept. 9th of 95, got it on March 3rd. of 96. Man that was a long time.

Wife's new-truck-fever has settled down a bit. Now we're looking at keeping the Black Bomb at least another couple of years. By then there will be used Duramxes and used Crew Cab Rams to choose from, and the reliability issues should be settled. Suits me; I'm just now finally getting the Black Bomb the way I want her to be!

I am under the impression that the new crew cab will be available in 1500 trim only. I believe that the 2500/3500 version will come out in 2003. This may have changed since I saw the artilcle.
