James O'Neal Dodge, Bremen GA, has 2 2500 turbo diesels and 1 3500 turbo diesel. This is the only Dodge garage I use when I need one. Had my truck there for throttle cable recall. If interested call Steven O'Neal at 1-800-663-2522 or 770-537-1737, FAX 770-537-1551. Happy hunting!

Dave Smith Motors

Dave Smith Motors in Kellogg Idaho has a ton of 2002's on the lot and he sells them all for $58 over invoice. I just bought my truck from them and highly recommend them. First class operation, not to mention, you've never seen a car dealership like this place.

Ray,

Who was your sales person? When I lived in Montana I would go to Dave Smith for all my warranty issues. I will be purchasing a 2002 after January and will most likely do my business with them.

Has anyone heard what the availabily for 2002 trucks will be after January? Read a post awhile back which stated Dodge was cutting back production of 2002 2500 and 3500 because of increased production for new style 1500 trucks. Maybe I need to purchase a 2002 sooner than planned. I was wanting to try and time my purchase toward the end of production, that way if any upgrades where made during the 2002 production I should get them. Also wanting to wait and see what the 2003's are composed of before I make my final decision. This may too early to know, but what is the latest date to place an order for a 2002??

2002's

Someone mentioned at a recent get together that they stuggled for weeks to find a non-clubcab CTD. Well, there are three new ones at Valley Motors in New Milford, CT. There are a like number of club cab units and one w/o a bed as well.

You don't want my salesman

1tuffram,

As I've posted before, I was impressed with every single person I dealt with at Dave Smith Motors (sales manager and team leader, accessories staff, parts staff, financing staff) with the exception of my salesman. I won't post his name out of fairness for him but I will tell you to make sure your salesman is knowledgeable about Dodge Trucks. My salesman was brand new and told me lots of wrong info about Dodge Trucks when I was placing the order (over the phone). When I called and talked to other sales staff I would get the real story. He didn't track my truck at all and had I not checked his work after the order was placed I would have had the wrong truck ordered. I will purchase my next vehicle from Dave Smith Motors but I'll make sure I find another salesman. I hope this helps.

I was seriously considering Dave Smith Motors for my new truck but ended up going elsewhere when they insisted I could not get the LSD rearend with 3. 54 gears. Ended up going through Lynnwood Dodge and they were pretty good, got my 3. 54LSD, but it was Evan Beck that ordered my truck, he reordered and I bought his Order #1.

Yeah, sure do, nothing like having your brand new Ram entrusted to a careful, attentive Lynnwood Dodge Lot Monkey  I remember you went on a road trip to chase that thing into town on the train, took pictures of it at the RR dock in Kent, etc. etc. only to have the Lot Monkey tag a light pole :(

I wonder what ever happened to that truck? I think MikeR saw it a few months after it got fixed. If you had the VIN I wonder what a search on carfacts.com would turn up? (I think that's the site that gives you a vehicle's history).

Ray,

Sorry to hear about the salesman, but the times I've been there I too have noticed a few unknowledgable folks ,might be the same salesman, (not to mention names either but was he named after a cartoon character). I find this mind boggling due to the volume of trucks they sell. I just assumed everyone there knew the "correct" facts about Dodge trucks. Probably the ones who don't care a whole lot and are only after the "sale" are the bad apples. A few years ago while at Dave Smiths 2nd Jamboree I talked to a very knowledgable sales Women. She knew her stuff, I was very impressed. Think she knew more than the service dept guys. Have to look for her card and give a call to find out if she's still around.

I also bought a truck from Dave Smith. I ordered it up and picked it up on June !st. I was completely satisfied with Dave Smith Motors and the salesman (Sid). I've talked to Sid on the phone a few times setting up the order and met him once for about 1 1/2 hrs when I picked up the truck. I was sent a coupon for a free oil change and as long as I was going on vacation and I'd be going by the dealer which was in the middle of August. When I got there they took the truck right away and while waiting I ran into Sid again and I was impressed that he still remembered my name. As I was talking to him he kept saying that if I needed any help or have any problems let him know. To me this isn't a typical salesman who sells a car and then forgets who you are.

Ray,

If the salesman you dealt with is still working there when you buy your next truck, then they assign him to you again.

In Aug of '99 I ordered a truck with a Dave Smith salesman. The guy was great and knew everything about the trucks, and gave me a great trade offer for mine. During my order, they promoted him to the finance department and then gave me some idiot that didn't know squat and didn't return my calls for up to a week. I ended up cancelling the order before it arrived.

Earlier this year I was shopping for a used 94-95,and Dave Smith had a 94 on the lot. I called and talked to a lady that was great and very helpful. But when she saw I was already on file, she said she has to give me to the same salesman I was working with before. I wasn't interested in the truck that much anymore.

Vaughn,

I did go and see the truck after it was repaired. The shop that did it was top notch. That truck sat on the lot for a long time, then it got dealer traded to the Burien Dodge lot close to where I live. It sat there for a long time too before finally dissaprearing.
