Started with APPS acting weird, transmission shifting not firm like it use to be within a month or so, sometimes transmission would up shift then down shift then re upshift, started cranking real slowly, then would not crank at all unless the battery charger was on it overnight. Then it did not crank at work at all.

OK, finally time to start getting it right again. I have a BrakeSmart set to show voltage all the time. 14. 5 volts. Crank it, starter would hardly turn. Voltage drops to 11 volts during cranking. Took off passenger side positive, BrakeSmart reporting 9. 2 volts on drivers side battery. AH ha. Bad battery. Had the truck 3 yr 7 mth (how in the heck do the battery designers get the failure time so darn close to just over the warrantee?). Oooo kay, off to the local (real) auto parts store (they have a battery load tool (put a big load on the battery to see how it acts with a load), take off connectors off the drivers side battery, hummm, slight thin grey film of corrosion, wipe it off, brush both batt terms and connectors, apply dielectric grease, reconnect, cranked right up smartely 13. 5 volts.

Point is: 1 shakey battery and 1 good battery can make it look like a number of things in the electrical system are going eventhough the voltage is good, but it may be a simple as cleaning the battery terminals.

Does not mean battery is NOT on the way out, or the APPS does not need reseting, but I got off pretty easily - this time ;) and of course Larry B's starter contact kit is on the way, but can reside in the tool box for now :D .
