RMTDR Meeting

Wisconsin Meeting

I was talking to the track president and was asking him if he would mind us having a meeting on the grounds of the track before a truck pull. He said no problem. I started telling him about some of the larger rallies like may madness and the dec. on out in Cal. and he is very interested in hosting on of these. This will be a diesel pickup rally. All brands are welcome. I have been to a few of the ford local events and had a great time and meet some new people. They do permit camping on the grounds but there are several campgrounds around the track for those of you that would like to have hook ups. Lancaster is about 10 min north of the track. There are a few hotels up there. What I'm really getting at is who is interested in doing a weekend thing in the summer of 2002 out here on the east coast. we could try to set up something with vendor and the truck pulls on sat night. Just post if it sounds like something you would be interested in.

Tom, That's great idea. I'm sure there's a lot of work involved, but there should be enough time to orginize it. Keep us posted.

Maybe Stack'd-n-Jack'd would be interested in working with you guys on planning this event. It could be one stop in a circuit of events throughout the country. The local TDR chapter members could host the individual events, with the help of a core group of seasoned planners/organizers.

Give Stack'd time to get the Muncie,IN (June 2001) event under his belt, then see if you can draw him into your plans.

yea man... i'll show up!!!!!!!!!!!!. tom

And while you're up there, be sure to stop at The Rough and Tumble Antique Machine Museeum. Rt. 30, Kinzer's PA.

Not because we have the largest collection of steam engines, traction engines, ancient diesel technology, and farm equipment east of the Misissippi. Not because we have a lot of "one of's" and "last of's". Not because Smithsonian Magazine picked us as one of the 7 unique museeums in the country.

But because I usually make the chilli, soup and other stuff during the bigger shows.

Antique tractor pull on April 28
Spring Steam Up (first big show of the season) May 11 and 12.

This is just a post to see what kind of interest there would be. Do you all think it could be done in a weekend or do we need to add thur and fri to it. I have do dates as of yet. I haven't been to a may maddness so what do they do for activites? I was going to try to get the track to host a pull and the dirt drag races. We could do a divorced derby out in the field. I need ideas to take to the track. Rember that this is for 2002 in the summer. I want to do it when the kids are out of school.

Tom,
I should be out to the Buck at least once this year to Pull.
I was working on a smaller scale event for this summer, but canceled it. Just too much work/not enough time.
Also, trying to schedule it in between available dates, and watching out for other events is tough. (Especially when I wanted to go to the other events!)

I think it is a better location at the Buck, for the name reconigtion.

I also think there is MORE HORSEPOWER EAST OF THE MISSISSIPPI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
