2002 Towing Mirrors

Did any one get an 02' with the towing mirrors yet? My truck is on order with the towing mirrors and I'm wondering if they are power and if they are heated.

Nope, the towing mirrors are not power nor are they heated. They are a bit of a pain to get adjusted and keep them adjusted.

Thats the reason I didnt get them. Went with the slip on towing mirrors over the stock power & heated and they work great.

I have the towing mirrors and love them. I have not needed to adjust them since I bought the truck. I haven't even flipped them out to tow the new 5er. The towing mirrors provide several more inches of visability over the standard mirrors even when not flipped out.

I'm on my second season

and the factory tow mirrors work fantastic.



Cruise at 70mph+ and the mirror hardly vibrate at all.





If you tow these mirrors are a must.

Is the right side mirror flat? I have to get rid of the curved mirror on mine. I hit a car with my trailer because the mirror did not reflect where the car really was. I use the slip on mirrors on my truck and are ok on the drivers side, but the right side seldom does me any good because it is so small. I have towed for many years driving Chevy's with big mirrors from the factory and I place a bubble mirror in one corner to see who is along side of me. I am still not used to the Dodge mirrors after 3 years.

Just got my '01 today and there wasn't a diference in mine and an '02 I saw. Don't really care for mine, just had 'em on there. In fact, if I could, I'd like to swap out with the standard heated mirrors. JMHO.

Got em on my 01.......

No power, no heat. Mine vibrate a bit at higher speeds but I'm still able to see out of them easily. Never seem to vibrate enough to get out of adjustment though. They work really great for me as I have a utility bed and couldn't see past it otherwise!



I like the built in blind spot mirror too. Set em out wide and use the spots for what their meant for, The Blind Spot!

Power Vision is the answer!

I installed a set of the new (second generation) Power Vision mirrors to my Ram several months ago (just after they were released for sale), purchasing them through Jason of NW Custom. Anyway, the power extendable mirrors are also electrically adjustable and heated. The heating element is not like the OE mickey mouse ears either (heated in a spiral wound fashion), it appears like they have a circuit board heating element, providing near 100% coverage... which can be seen as the element heats up the fogged surface. The new Power Vision mirrors look fantastic, install easily (IF you have the OE heated mirrors), do not vibrate while driving and have the flat glass on the passenger side.

I had the slip on towing mirrors on my 94 but they don't fit the 01

Where can I find the slip on towing mirrors to fit my 01?

Heated tow mirrors?

Heard a rumor that the 03's were to have heated and electric flip mirrors. do you think that they might fit the 01's? same basic shape?

I have to agree with John! Powervision is the only way to go. I also purchased mine from Jason Burton of Northwest Custom right after Diesel Thunder in Spokane. The wiring for the controls including heat plug right into the stock wiring harnesses. I did add convex blind spot mirrors in the lower corners. I am really satified with the Powervision mirrors!

This is my 2nd truck to have the flip out mirrors. I think there great. I tow a coachman wide body 5,er and still don't need to flip the out. The right one is a true mirror, not one of those "closer than it appears" things. I'm not sure what the power ones are. Just my opinion.

The Powervision has a standard mirror on both sides. No convex lens on right.

Stock towing mirrors

The stock flip ups work great. No vibration problems, no adjustment problems and they're always on the truck if needed, not in the garage! They have a large flat area with a small convex section on each mirror, couldn't have designed the reflective surface any better myelf. They do seem to have a bit of a whistle at speed though. I think they're a great option. Not heated, not electric but they stay in adjustment and will never fail. I've never seen a need for heated mirrors, but I do live in California! KISS

NO vibration while in the retracted position and very, very, very little while fully extended.



Piers just installed the same set we have (second gen. Power Vision mirrors) on his Ram and loves 'em.

I have the Tow Mirrors and like them very much, the only thing I have found is they deflect some bugs onto your side window.
