Is this possible

It's not just us

Just wondered what some of you are hoping to get accomplished with your turbo diesel, whether it's to keep it stock, better oil analysis, mods, or competitive goals.

My goals are few this year: 700+hp and 12. 98 on the track with #2 only. That's only ~80 hp and . 6 seconds, but it will take alot of work! I think a different transmission and better tires will get me close.

I hope that next year we can pull up this thread and see how close we got.

Lemme see here.

Clutch, big time

Gov spring kit

some variation of the HX-40 or the H2

4 inch exhaust. (gonna have to have it with the turbo)

New rear tires:D :D

Different clutch, twin turbos, camshaft, set of slicks, custom paint by K. C. Customs, Santa Rosa, California... ... . uh oh, that sounds more like a Christmas wish list, don't it?

Finish what I started

I would like to finish what I have started. :D As of now I have my fuel psi. gages taped together on the dash waiting on the dash pod 3 weeks on back order :( steering wheel gage pod 3 weeks on back order :( Over head dash half done not shore how I am going to finish it at this point. Then I have the leather bed mat to finish hope to get a big Cummins C or some thing sewn into it. Then I have to open the hood and add some HP. :) :D

Sounds like fun to me.

Cliff

I'm still trying to get cought up on all my 01 goals for my truck. And it looks like I'm going to wait a little while longer because I'm going to pick up my new Polaris ATV Saturday. :)

Always behind except on the highway.

Win the lottery!!!

Wish list: DTT, injectors(3,4 or 5's), B1 turbo, Airbulldog Hood, lineX, tool box, alcoa wheels, custom paint job, MAD ecm... ... should I keep going?

Realistic DTT and Injectors + something else(wife wants the airbulldog BAD, so I'll let you guess which one:rolleyes: )

Can only hope,

Glenn

well, I've got my lowly old 1st gen... not the toughest (2wd, 3/4 ton) or the prettiest (single cab, long bed and the hood and top are missing over half their paint! LOL!), or the most powerful (bone stock save for full 3" mandrel exhaust (no muffler) and a swiss cheesed air box) but she sure is MINE! :p

mods for '02?

well, the 205k mile a518 isn't quite as crisp as it was when it left Dodge  and decided to show me some aluminum filings in the pan a few days ago when I was adjusting the bands...

SO... I'm headed to a truck yard tomorrow to hopefully get a flywheel, clutch pedal and hydraulics, etc. etc. and I've spoken at length with Standard Trans (they're only ~45 min away from me), so it looks like I'm moving forward with an NV4500 conversion! :D

I've got a 12cm turbine housing that my buddy pretty much gave me when I got the truck... it's off of a later truck (wastegated) with the elbow, so it hasn't gone on for lack of time to fab a downpipe, but I'm figuring while the truck is down for the NV swap, I'll do the turbine housing and exhaust... which brings me to: a full 4" exhaust... I want to do a single 5" stack, but I run a camper shell, so I'm just going to run 4" down and run 5" for about the last few feet and turn it out in front of the rear tire.

my credit card's gonna be hating me after the NV4500 swap, so that'll be about it for my mod money... but I DO want to put some Lucas Marine injectors in the thing! (probably have to settle for pump tweaks)

oh, and at some point, an HX35... oh, and I've drawn up some plans for an air/water cooler for use in conjunction with the air/air! :p

mmmmmmmm goals for o2 will be to get into the 11's, make over 750hp, new motor with all the good stuff I know about now, win some more pulls, and have lots and lots of fun:D

Well, a wash job would be nice.

Seriously, I hope to get some basic maint issues covered over the winter. Brake fluid, antifreeze, timing. Got all the stuff, no time. Redo the rear end, all new lights, some brite aluminum. More marker lights all over the place. "Big" turbo. Did I mention wash job?

Well?????

I thought I'd check with all of you to see what you got accomplished.

I have an automatic, I have ran a few 12. 98's, I have different tires.

I didn't get the 700+ horse on #2 yet, that one could be tough. I actually went backwards with the automatic on the ponies, but have many more tricks up the sleeve! Need $$$$$

Well, starting up the shop and a few other time-consuming necessities in life put the truck on the back burner. It has everything wrong from a "check engine" light to a possible low boost problem (need to adjust wastegate) on the new turbo, and the steering problems that I haven't had time or $$$ to fix properly...

Maybe the steering wander on the drag strip :D will psych out the guys in the other lane. :-laf

Loose MAP sensor connection seems to have been the major culprit, the light hasn't come back. Of course, when my dash lights finally give me the LasVegas "Fremont Street Experience" light show like HVAC's dash does, then maybe I'll feel like I'm getting somewhere in the HP race. :D I wonder if I can get those warning buzzers programmed to play "Dixie" in time with the lights.

Well, the clutch and gov springs are in the ol girl now.

Still building the BOMB budget up for the turbo/exhaust mods. At the rate I'm going, it's going to take a while.

But, the year ain't over yet. :D :)

I really just want to put more miles on it! #ad

Well, OK! There are a few things,

Leather seats

Rear panhard bar

Rear disc brakes

19. 5 wheels/tires

bigger trailer to haul more toys... .

To name just a few. .

Wishes

I will be very happy if I can get my B-1 (or equivalent), a 4" remote mount exhaust brake, and a lockup controller of sorts. (havn't decided on the make of the last item yet. :)

For 2002: Put on an Aluminum head, de-stoke it and then over bore it, yada, yada, yada. If I have few more beers, maybe put some plastic Avalanche body panels on the ole girl; to spruce her up a bit?
