Has anyone heard about the 2003 HD models yet? Rumors were that we'll have an upgraded Cummins along with the full-sized (real 4-door) cab, 4 wheel disc brakes, etc. I'm trying to decide if I should BOMB my '99, or wait for the '03. Thanks,

Don

Don, I'm trying to decide a similar question... I would like to change to a full size bed from the short box... do I wait for 2003, or go ahead and make the change now? All info I've heard is that 03' is the year for the "real" 4 door. I don't know much beyond that. Interested to hear what others have to say. -Ken

Changing?????

Don, thats tough to say. The 99 can be BOMBed right now with the after market stuff that it available but it might take six months to a year before they have much out for the 03's if they do infact change the motor. Something to think about... ... ..... Pete

:D  I am waiting for a 2003. The new 2003 4 door will look the same as the 2002 1/2 ton. The current trucks are code named BR and the new trucks are DR models. the 2500 / 3500 2002 models will still be BR style, in 2003 the 2500 /. 3500 will then be in the DR body. The new motor is suppossed to be Quiet enough to not have to turn it off to order thru a drive thru window at the local choke and puke. A close friend at the engineering center in gas motors, has heard them as trucks past him in the lot. he said a new motor and an old motor drove by him, and he could not believe the difference. They are supposed to be as quiet as a duramax. Unfortunantly the Allison auto is not going to around, as Allison could not commit to the numbers Dodge needed, and said the GM trucks are thier first priority, so Dodge lost out. I saw a 2002 !/2 ton 2X4 at a local cruise event, and it was white sport 4 door. I took pictures and will get them posted soon. From looking thru the windows, it appeared to have AT LEAST DOUBLE the rear seat leg room as the current quad cab, and my dealer said an engineer brought one by and he sat in the rear, and said it was plenty of room for an adult, and comfortable.
