2003 305HP, Does it have a 47RE or 48RE?

I just bought a 2003 with the 305 HO engine. Do all the 03 HO trucks have the 48RE or did they come both ways, 47RE and 48RE? I guess I can run the vin and see. Just thought I'd ask.

Only the SO trucks had the 47RE.

My sons 2003 CA SO has a 48re.



The way I understood it was that all 305 trucks got the 48. The only reason you see 47's in some 03s is DC was simply using up stock as the switch was made to the 48 during 2003 production.

Those 47's went only in SO trucks but not all as the 48 production took over.

It is my understanding that the early 03's had 47 and the later ones had the 48... SO and HO trucks

they used up the stock of 47 re's and started putting the 48 re in all the trucks. But the 305's only came with the 48re's FYI any truck built after jan 1 2003 is actually is an '03. 5 (the engine CPL# is Different)
