So. . Got into a little debate with another member... He says that the 48RE auto trans wasn't an option untill 2004. 5 with the 600 motor.

I know for a fact that it was available in late 2003 with the HO motor.

I know of at least two 03's and one 04 that had this option.

2003 - Mr. Cob DRW

2003 - Muddy's green DRW

2004 - Big Bob's DRW.

Can anyone post up a picture of a window sticker showing it as an option on the 2003-2004 305/555 trucks?

My 2003 with the 305/555 motor with a truck build date of JAN03 has the 48RE trans...

L Rutigliano is correct. My Feb '03 built truck is also a 48RE. Early third generation trucks with the 250 HP engine still had the 47RE, perhaps that is the source of confusion.

My 2003 SO(250hp) with a build date of jan 25th has a 48RE glove box code: CJ8..... know I'm lucky. I also compared it to my buddies 2004. 5 side by side and wire harness plug ares the same

Bhaner add me to that list. Mine is an '03. 5 built in 4/03 with the 48RE. The placard on the side of the valve cover shows 305 HP.
