I have a stock 2003 Auto 2500 5.9. Bought used with 105,000 miles on it.I now have 110,000 miles and have noticed increasing longer cranking times. Batteries good cranks fast.Had truck evaluated at repeatable shop locally they said lift pump pressure a little low but all else good asked them to torque crossover tubes which they did and said were a little loose.Have ordered a Geno's garage carter pump replacement Baldwin 5 micron fuel filter. But am looking to further troubleshoot possible injector wear issues before I have no start conditions. Read a lot different things to look for here but want to dumb it down to make it simple and do not want to damage truck while doing so.Since I'm doing this blind .
Also codes P0111 and P2509 keep coming up.
But just hauled a new 5th wheel toy hauler from South Dakota to Seattle with no problems other than slightly increasing longer start times.

To raise rail pressure i can unplug FCA to get maximum rail pressure and see if I get a faster start. To overcome any leak-by.
If successful. Then plug back in FCA. And then cap (with what?) Pressure relief valve or better yet it will be easier to disconnect which line ?and look for fuel. If return line to CP3 Pump do I have to plug pump where line was disconnected?
Willing to but parts that have a wear factor anyway to replace before buying new Bosch injectors.

Disconnect the FCA and see if that changes things then look at the rail PR. To test the PR valve remove the banjo bolt form the top of the valve and bag the end to catch fuel that comes out. Clean and dry the PR well with cleaner and air, disconnect FCA and run the engine for 30-60 seconds, then check the well for fuel. If there is any wetness it is leaking.

You don't have a lot of miles but the age is there and that is half of the injector life problems, especially on the earlier trucks. The cam and crank sensor synch on the older trucks has also been an issue. There is a flash for it, plus, replacement of those sensors maybe warranted.

The 2509 is power lost to the ECU, if it keeps coming back you likely have a connection issues somewhere between the driver side battery and the ECU. The ECU is powered off a wire that can get corroded plus grounds could be getting bad also.

Make sure that before you start to crank over engine, that the security (red) light has gone out. One set of keys on my truck is better than the other for time spent recognizing the key by ecm.

Don"t know but same thing happened to mine ended up being injectors although I had around 170,000 miles on mine.
