The next generation Cummins for our Dodges will

have a lot of changes that are driven by new regulations. Variable geometry turbos, common rail

injection, rear gear train, cooled EGR = better response, quieter operation, more power and more

environmentally friendly.

I'm glad I bought my truck when I did. Most of these changes are being made for the "environment". I have never noticed where environmental changes ended up being a good thing for my pocketbook. I love the way my truck sounds, and I don't want a Cummins that does not sound like a Cummins. Not to mention that when they try and do all of this "new" stuff the poor guys that buy the first year of production will suffer through recalls and quality issues.

Yeah

Plus, I don't think that diesels will be diesels anymore with the EGR bs. They will have the same service life as a gas burner

NEW ENGINES

i just hope that some government beaurocrat with nothing better to do than figure out how to screw things up, doesn't decide that the rest of us for several years back will have to retrofit our trucks to the same standards. i like mine the way it is-- big, noisy and smelly!!
