Is it still possible to get the etc with an auto?

I stopped at a dealer friday on the way home, I think I knew more about these new trucks from being on here than he did.

Pretty common these days. Some of these salesmen don't know what they are selling, and they don't want to do much studying either. I stopped at a dealers in Draper, Ut the other day, and the sales person I spoke with didn't even know if the 2500 series trucks would even offer the Cummins engine!

"I received tons of letters after I published the preliminary specs on the 2003 Ram 2500/3500

wondering why they didn't list an automatic option for the HO version of the Cummins diesel. Dodges' latest automatic truck transmission, the 48RE will be showing up in January of 2003 (which is also when the HEMI will become available in the Ram 1500). The new transmission is specifically designed to handle the 555 lb. ft of torque the new third generation Cummins ISB diesel puts out. The 48RE will be built at Chrysler's Kokomo facility. "

speaking of buzz

Did you notice the production startup times while over at car-truck.com? Said 2003 HD's last to start proudction, first week in Sept. I was hoping to see one at the dealer by then.

Job 1 is September 3. Anything built between now and then will be trainers and demos. DC can get away with waiting because the HDs only account for 30-35% of total Ram sales - they need to get 1500s on the floor first.
