If I recall correctly, the present 6-speed transmission carries an input torque specification of only 550 ft-lbs. As far as I've heard, this will be the same transmission used in the 2003 trucks boasting 555 ft-lbs. What gives? Are there any changes to this transmission that allow for this increase or is it just a numbers game?

When the NVG5600 came out, it was listed as having a 650 lb ft input capacity, but Dodge was buying it with a 550 lb ft capacity. I haven't found out what the difference between the two is or what they removed (installed?) to lower it's torque rating. I'd love to find out more about that too.
