I have determined that this has been the worst possible year for me with my 91. First it was the head gasket, then the oil cooler, then the Getrag, and now the Getrag again. Went to downshift today and the truck stayed in 5th, while the shifter went to neutral. Can't put the truck in any gear, it's stuck in 5th. For the first time ever, I wished I had bought the '03 I looked at back in March and sent this truck down the road.

Only good thing is that it's all under warrenty yet and won't cost me a dime. By the time this gets fixed, I will have been without this truck for almost 3 months this year. I'm starting to wonder if this is what it's like to own a 6. 0 PSD?#ad

Probably the same... . only more expensive. ;)

Don't feel bad - Mr. Murphy seems to have his way with me on a regular basis... wish he'd find him a woman or something to keep him occupied for a while. :D

I look at it this way how much has it cost me for the miles I have put on it and then I smile. . If you bought a new truck it would have lost more value in the last 6 months than all the money you spent on your and then some. I see alot of new trucks and I just smile because no matter what I do to mine in the way of maintence or repair I am still money ahead in the long run and they run a long time... .

BTW did you know the only place you could get an air filter or for that matter almost any parts at all for an 03 is the dealer/stealership... $$$$$

I bougt a truck that does what your saying and if you put the shifter back in 5th and then push it to the right as you take it out it works fine you have to do this every time on it or it will do that he said it was a spring in the shifter or something like that I don't know for sure but he didn't have it fixed because the labor was ridiculous. Hope this helps its annoying but it can be driven that way if its the same problem. :D
