Every since installing my new double disc clutch, my NV4500 has been extremly hard to shift. At mile 9000, from the install, I noticed a new noise in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th. 4th geat was quite which meant that a cluster problem was apparent. Thinking that it was a bearing problem, I called Standard Trans late Thursday and they manage to get me all of the parts by Friday. (Standard has save the day for me on three occasions. ) Any way, after dissassemble the trans and found that the front cluster bearing worn out on the load side, which was causing the noise.
I also noticed that the shift lever retainer was causing my hard shifting.
Now it is back and shifting smoother, noise gone.
Thanks to Standard Transmission.
