2003 Power steering leak

Look underneath the power steering pump and check for an oil leak. I just had one of the hoses replaced by the dealer.

had gear box replaced at 30,000 miles because it was leaking, now at 80,000 miles the pump is leaking and out of warranty. Great product. Although most of my problems have been minor this truck is a POS.

Steering Leak

I have a 4. 5 that started leaking from the steering box at about 6000 miles. I haven't taken it to the dealer as it is a slow leak and nothing else is wrong. Hopefully, nothing will be and I will have to take it in anyway. It is leaking from the box itself, not the pump or connections to the box.

when i had the TSB done on my truck for the vibration at 70 MPH they replaced one power steering hose, with the weighted dampener. the hose that was replaced, leaked and only needed the fitting tightened. no leak since.

Mine's leaked all over the place ever since I bought it; I think it's because the cap won't stay on. At 50,000 miles the cap fell off completely. Now I have a piece of tarp zip tied over it. Works better then the cap did. It could be fixed under warranty; but the truck is solid and I won't take it to the dealer because I figure they'll break something major. So I live with it. Annoying but not a big problem.
