Not sure if the backspacing is the same, but the bolt pattern is the same. I've seen 3rd Gen wheels on 2nd gen's before, they look good. Same with 2nd gen wheels on 1st gen trucks...

RJWest it's a simple swap, same lug nuts & all. Have 'em on my '96 & '98 (pics here) http://s113.photobucket.com/albums/n228/VMac822/My Trucks/

Only catch is you'll have to use the '03 center caps since the late 2nd Gen center caps won't fit.

Weight rating is 3405 lbs for both the BFG and Michelin tires which are Range E. Sidewall strength is very good especially on the Michelins. . . the BFGs are a touch softer.

Sorry for the delayed response. . been a busy week.

It was a direct swap, I don't know the ratings, but if they put them on the 3rd gen 2500, I assume they are rated the same or better than the 2nd gen 2500 rims. But, I know what assuming can do. Also, the center caps came with the 3rd gen wheels, so they all just fit perfectly.

Good luck with your swap.

keep an eye on craigslist for your area. When I got my truck last year, swapping to normal size tires was high on my list. Many 3rd gen owners are putting on the bling 20" wheels and tires so they want to get some money out of their stock ones. Craigslist in my area had several to choose from. I paid $300 for a set of 4 wheels and original tires with about 70% tread left.
