My cd player no longer works... . I just get a CD Error text on the radio? I have a Laramie with the premium 6 disc changer.

Question: Can this problem be fixed? If not what would be a nice replacement? I would upgrade, but nothing too crazy stereos are not that important to me.

Thanks,

Many OEM radios can be repaired. I think all larger cities have a shop located somewhere near the auto dealerships that specialize in sound system repairs as well as other automotive electronics. Their primary customers are the used car departments of auto dealers but they will work for you also.

I learned about this years ago when my wife's BMW ate a tape. I asked the BMW dealer and was referred to a shop that did that work. In and out, 1/2 day, problem cured.

Thanks Harvey..... I will be looking into that on Monday.

Does anyone know where I can find a used factory replacement if need be?

Thanks!

Does anyone know how the radio comes out? Actually, does anyone know if the wood grain pannel gones off, or do i need to take the dash apart?

We've had issues with CD's that we've made, not purchased... the thickness of a blank CD off the shelf is thicker than a recorded CD... . so we no longer put CD's that we've recorded into the player...

Hope this helps...

Does anyone know how the wood grain pannel comes off to get to the radio?

I found a used radio, does the "New, Used" radio need to be programmed for my truck via the dealership, or is it plug and play?

hi , I had my radio go bad , but luckily it was still under warranty and replaced by dealer, but , if you are familiar with Craigslist, I have seen many stock radios (extremely cheap) in my area on that venue, As for removing it, I believe you need to remove the screw for the little trash bag hook to the right of the radio , which enables you to remove the radio section of the dash, not sure it it pops off or has screws, but is pretty simple, Hope this helps.

I just got a new-in-the-box RAZ/Infinity CD/Radio/cassette off ebay for $75 plus $15 S&H. My CD was skipping and the mode function wasn't working properly with my HD radio/Ipod add-on. Love the HD by the way.

the trim piece pops off the front, just get a small flat head screwdriver and start on one edge and work it around, don't get too aggressive or you'll mar the plastic. doesn't take much to pop it off.
