Archived 2003 won't start

my br2500 won't start. it will crank but won't start even at 34 degrees outside. it will however start if it is plugged in. it is also showing a p480 code that is a low-speed fan control relay circuit. does anyone know if the two have something to do with each other. once it has started i haven't had any problems starting it again but it hasn't really sat very long between starts either. so if anyone out there could help solve the problem i sure would be thankful... ... ... ... thanks ken

Good chance you have a leaking injector(s) or crossover tube(s). There has to be a minimum pressure in the rail before the ECM will fire the injectors and if there are leaks in the system this pressure is not met. This is a brief description and only one possibility but has been a very common problem. When it happened to me I had all the injectors and tubes changed. There are many threads here about this. Do a search on this site and you will find a lot of information.

When mine had the 480 code the cp3 was leaking externally and running down the wire to the connector for the fan clutch. Maybe that will help.
