OK,

I've got a 2004½-the engine says ISB 325HP on the side, however 2 things that I have heard are different are not:

1. The intercooler is all metal-no plastic end tanks-it's all black-is this a carryover from 2004, or is the plastic end tank story not quite true?

2. The fan shroud is attached to the radiator-not the fan. What I read about the 2004½ was that it was attached to the fan, and sealed to the radiator by some kind of soft rubber.

Comments?

Maybe the 'test truck' that Joe D. and others drove for that test was a cobbled together beast that DC threw together just for the test.

Perhaps they figured they'd try out a few ideas in a real world Beta test environment...

In Joe's defense... all he had to go on was what he saw and what DC fed him for info.

My fan and shroud is attached to the engine with some round tubes. Also, look for the cat in the exhaust, near the front.

Oh, I wasn't questioning Joe-the pickuptruck.com article mentions the fan shroud and the "redesigned intercooler"-I was just wondering if I had some carryover components, and later 2004½ units will have the new stuff-I like the intercooler being all metal, and the fan shroud being "conventional"-I thought that rotating shroud would be a little more dangerous than the conventional type anyway.

Fan Shourd.

The fan shroud is not attached to the fan. It is attached to the engine block and does not rotate. Not trying to be smart; just clarify.

OIC-I'll have to look at that! Thanks for the clarification!
