Looking to buy a new 2004 1/2 with the HO and 48RE. Just read a test report that shows this as 325 HP and over 600# torque... . Anyone have this and are you happy? This new one shows towing capacity much higher than my sweet old 99. . Test said the new HO has the larger exhaust and the new MOPAR approved Jake brake is also available. . How much should one pay for the Jake brake at the dealer? Also says the cooling system a little redesigned as well as piston and valve seats. Thanks for the help, guys. have a good one. :)

I have one and am very happy with it. I have been very pleased with the SOP feel and have noticed improved performance beginning at about 500 miles (is that just in my head???).

I would go drive one before you buy just to be sure. Some have indicated that they are not pleased with the power from the 04. 5. Not sure what they are comparinig it to but you should be able to judge for yourself.

The exhaust brake is available for the manual but not yet approved for the 48re if I'm not mistaken. Perhaps I've missed something over the past week or two but that was the position of DC a couple back. There are those out there that have had the e-brake installed with the 48re so it will work but you may have some warranty issues. Just go in informed.

thanks... Yes the MOPAR exhaust brake has been approved for the 48RE... My question is how much should it cost? I understand it is a dealer installed rather than a factory installed item and my dealer priced it to me for $1500. 00 if I buy the new truck from him... . How does this sound?????
