Over the last 3 mornings the truck took longer to start 40° - 55°F. Once it did start all subsequent starts were as normal till the next AM. This AM NO Start! Grid Heater draws current and relays pass power 10VDC under load at the relay terminal. Lift pressure is 9.5-10.5psi throughout the attempt. There are no codes on the odometer.

220K miles. Injectors are original. Fuel control module on the CP3 18K miles ago.
Stuck a charger on it for a couple hours. It started after the charge though it cranked with the usual gusto through out the process. I'll report status in the morning as to start or not. Drove it 8 hours today, it should not be lacking change. DieHard AGM's 2 years old.
Thanks for the replies!

I think I would start checking all your grounds and your batt connections. While the starter might be getting enough juice maybe the computer is not? I'd be nice to know what kind of rail pressure the computer is seeing maybe it's not seeing enough to turn on the fuel injectors?

Took it to my favourite shop in Rockledge, FL. He put the scan tool to work and found rail pressure good when hot. I'll be leaving it overnight so he can see it cold. I tightened the battery terminals I got maybe an eighth turn or less there is zero corrosion. I'll re-torque the engine end grounds when I get it back. He also mentioned re-torquing the crossover tube if cold rail pressure is low. I am saving for injectors as I'll need them at some point.

Well I'm still looking for the cause. The temperature that the start fails at is creeping up, I am now having issues @ 55°F. It's is in the shop for a scan while starting in the cold. I've asked the tech to observe the rail pressure throughout the start attempts to see if it builds slowly or it jumps up to spec. & if it happens to start how long was rail pressure in spec before it fired up.

Very frustrating indeed.

Truck into the shop, CP3 I'm told (900 psi). So I'm doing some additional stuff while it's apart.
I'll report the results next week.

not likely the CP3, more likely the return rate of the injectors won't let enough rail pressure to fire the injectors,
i'd bet you need injectors.
Make sure you get NEW ones not reman. and injectors direct is a great place price wise.

Unless the shop performed a return flow test with FCA disconnected (unless they have the factory scan tool to overide) make sure they will refund the pump repair when it still doesn't start. CP3 pumps don't fail like your symptoms.

I doubt I'll see a refund. The truck does indeed start at the moment I cleaned up the battery grounds at the engine and applied dialectic grease. They were tight but not very tight for the bolt size and spring washer employed. I've fashioned a mounting bracket bolted to the Pac Brake compressor plate for a NAPA Filter base to add a CAT 2 micron fuel filter. I'll complete the install when I have it back. I'll look up the flow back check in the PDF manual.

THANKS for all the info.
