I had the trans rebuilt by a local shop in Jan 2014 (128k) I have a leak on the driver side of the trans, next to the front band adjusting screw, where the shift rod enters the trans. I sent it back to the local shop. They said they pulled the pan and valve body and installed a new bushing from the inside where the shift rod? goes in the case. They must be on the right track because now it leaks worse. :( Back to the shop when I have time. Has anyone else had a leak at that spot? I am confident it is not the front band adj screw, its obvious where the leak is coming from.

There are two O-rings on the VB harness connector and the connector could be cracked/defective.
The VB harness comes with two soleniods together. Can not just get the harness itself.
Have to drop the VB to replace it.
If this was not what,s leaking then it's leaking from the seal at the top of the shift rod.
It also could be leaking from the range sensor.

The range position sensor was replaced first, evidently it was fine.
With a mirror and a flashlight, I can see fresh red fluid coming out of where the shift rod enters the case, above the range sensor. That appears to be where it starts.

I am unclear on the VB harness. Is it inside or outside the trans case?
If outside, is it near the range sensor? Maybe I was looking at it and didn't know what it was called.

The VB harness is inside the trans case and the connector is outside the case. It's a round connector that stick out of the case and connects to the harness under the fame.
It's on the right side of the shift rod. It's called the solenoid harness case connector.

So the manual lever shaft seal in trans case is defective and needs new seal.

Thank you.
I wonder if that's the seal they replaced last Friday and now it leaks worse..... Back to the shop in about a month when I have time.
