2004.5 factory exhaust brake

I was at the local Dodge dealership having my 2004. 5 serviced when the service writer asked me if I wanted to have a factory exhaust brake installed on my truck. I told him I understood that Dodge would not install the factory exhaust brake on 48re equiped trucks. he said that there is a factory upgrade to the software that allows the exhaust brake to be set up on 2004 48re trucks. I don't tow enough to justify the cost, but i wanted to pass this on to other people that need an exhaust brake on thier 48re truck.

This could be possible because they went to engine control trans on the 04. 5 models, the only issue is the thrust washer? ask them about that. I think I'll blast an email to Carlton and get to the bottom of this.

I just called the Cummins 800 number, and they flatly denied it. If someone hears different from someone in the know, like Carlton, please chime in.
