Will I lose Sirius if I remove factory head unit?

Does AMSOIL "Severe Gear" have the friction Modifier ALREADY in it?

if I can keep my hands from turning the TST up and not let the skinny pedal go down too far I can get as high as 19. 5 on a 50/50 mix. however I average anywhere from 17-19. and yes this is with 4. 10's and a NV5600 hand calculated

6 speed, 3. 73 gears.

Delo 400 Oil.

TST on 1/1.

14. 5mpg City

Just over 20mpg empty at 67mph/just under 2K rpm. All empty, hand calced figures. I don't tow enough to know what that mileage would be, but on one cross country trip I averaged around 11 and I was towing around 9Klbs (big boat) with winter blend fuel.

I lost around 2mpg when I switched back to Delo 400 motor oil. I'm switching back to Amsoil as soon as the weather improves just a bit.

Hey Folks,

I was wondering what you 2004. 5 owners are getting for MPG. I am getting on average 12 MPG with a 50/50 of city and HWY. . My buddy with a 2005 is getting 18!!! Should there be that big a difference...

Traded my 95 2500 CTD last month for a 2004 2500 ST with 6 speed. It has 17,000 miles on it.

I put 400 miles on it on a trip to Vancouver, BC, no cargo. Got 23. 3 mpg at 60 mph.

Around here 50/50 highway/city streets I get 18. 5 mpg.

No complaints.

I bought a 04. 5 last Thanksgiving with 74K on it. Previous owner assured me that he got 20-21 on hwy. The first tank I got 17. 5 on the hwy. Since then it has been downhill, 14 city, the best I've seen is 16. 5 hwy and that is lightfooting to the extreme. All this is handcalculated as my truck is an ST. I've added an aftermarket airfilter and I'm running 285/70/17 BFG TA's. I am a very conservative driver, but with my '94 Cummins (297K) I never had to worry about being conservative and 18city/20hwy was the norm. I've been to the dealer twice and had the TSB's done, however, no help - poor mileage and transmission still doubleshifts into overdrive. Gearing is 3. 73. Any suggestions for the best economy chip on the market( No hype please!), I'm not looking for power just economy. At this point my old truck is greatly missed!!

15mpg mostly city some freeway. Tried a few differant boxes none helped. Do have the Rokktech in ,I may try putting the stock back in.

In my 04. 5, I get 16 around town and about 20 on the highway, not pulling. In my 05, I get about 17 around town and around 20 to 21 on the highway, not pulling. 05 is stock adn the 04. 5 has BHAF and mbrp muffler. Can't complain since my old '01 3. 9 v6 dakota never saw anything better than 14 on the highway at a fraction of the CGVW. SHoulda bought stock in Exxon with that one :)

I've got a completely stock 04. 5 QC 4 x 4 (short bed, automatic trans) that now has about 23K miles on the clock. Since new, it's averaged around 13 - 15 mpg with a 50/50 city/highway split (hand calculated). The best I've seen is 19 mpg (hand calculated) 100% highway at about 65 mph. I do notice a significant decrease in MPG when driving over 70 mph. I pull a 30 ft 5th wheel (approx 9k lbs) and usually average around 9 - 11 mpg. I had the ECM reflash done at about 10K miles and I didn't notice any difference in MPG. I don't trust the overhead calculator as it's always about 2 - 3 mpg higher than hand calculation.

At first I was disappointed in the difference in mpg from my 96 CTD (2wd) however when I rationalized the tremendous difference in horsepower and satisfaction with my new truck, I can live with the lower mpg.

mileage

I bought my 04. 5 almost a year ago with 24K on it and it was bone stock for several months. When stock I was getting an average of 17. 5 on the hwy, 14 in the city, and only 10 when towing. Now with 33K and the Quadzilla XZT best seen is 19 hwy and 15 city. When towing my 10,000lb 5'ver I average 12mpg now. I do have a 3500 4x4 auto with the 4. 10 gears, so all considered it isn't that bad. Sure would be nice to see over 20 someday though!!! Maybe after a new intake and exhaust?

Same as mine

I get 13-14 mpg highway and 8 mpg towing 12,000 lbs with summer fuel. Winter fuel is worse. Currently have 34,000 miles and I have not seen an increase. Been back to the dealer multiple times with no findings beyond a bad #6 injector. The new injector did not change my mpg's any.

I installed a Roktek sensor to offset the timing and did not see any changes with that either.
