Subject: New High Output Cummins —600— Turbo Diesel

In our continuing effort to drive excellence to your

showroom floor, Dodge is pleased to announce the

availability of a new 5. 9L High Output Cummins 600

Turbo Diesel with enhanced performance and 50 state

certification on all Dodge Ram Heavy Duty pickups.

With Best-In-Class Torque, Towing, GCWR and GVWR, the

2004 ÌË Dodge Ram Heavy Duty Cummins 600 will be the

strongest heavy-duty pickup truck on the market.

Now available in all 50 states, the Dodge Ram Heavy

Duty with the new Cummins 600 Turbo Diesel delivers

confidence, dominating the full-size diesel pickup

market with 600 lb. -ft of torque and the ability to

tow 16,400 lbs.

The strongest and most powerful heavy-duty pickup

available with 325 horsepower and 600 lb. -ft of

torque, the new Dodge Ram Heavy Duty Cummins 600

overpowers the competition. Just take a look at

these facts—Ǫ

- Delivers a 40 lb. -ft torque advantage over Ford

Powerstroke and 80 lb. -ft of torque advantage

over Chevy Duramax

- Almost 3,000 lb. towing advantage over Ford F350

Powerstroke and 500 lb. advantage versus the Chevy

3500 Duramax

- Delivers peak horsepower and torque earlier than

either Chevy Duramax and Ford Powerstroke

- Delivers 25 more horsepower than Chevy Duramax

- Quietest Cummins diesel ever produced

- Cold Start Capability, allows the turbo diesel

to start in —20F without an engine block heater

- Best Heavy Duty diesel rating in the JD Power

2003 Initial Quality Survey, surpassing Chevy

Duramax and Ford Powerstroke

The MSRP for the new 5. 9L HO Turbo Diesel will be $5,360,

a $135 MSRP increase for these engine improvements.

Price protection will only be applied to unscheduled

sold orders.

TOPS will be opened for December order input with

production commencing in early January 2004. Dealers are

requested to select ETH sales code. Remaining unscheduled

orders will be converted to the new diesel by December 5th

unless otherwise cancelled. The Standard Output diesel

(ETC)will be discontinued.

To showcase the strongest truck in the market, we have

planned a new television and print ad highlighting Ram

Heavy Duty with the new Cummins 600. In addition, the

Ram catalog will be reprinted featuring a new spread on the

Cummins 600. Websites and training material will also be

updated.

With the release of the new Cummins 600, the Ram brand of

pickups now claims the fastest production pickup

Ram (SRT-10), strongest heavy-duty pickup (Ram 2500/3500

with Cummins 600), and the most powerful, mass-produced

light-duty pickup (Ram 1500 with Hemi).

Power to get the job done!

People that held off ordering till now must be pretty happy. I can't wait to drive one to compare it to my CA SO, should be a huge difference.

I think it's time to trade in my 5 month old truck for a new one!!! Think I can talk the fiancee into it? :p I think it's funny that Frod upped Cummins by 5 ft pounds... then Cummins up Frod by 40 ft. pounds! Like I have said before, I had 2 Frod owners in the past few months tell me that they wished they had bought the Dodge... . now wonder what they are thinking?!?!:D

More HP and torque and 50 state lower emissions?

Makes me think that the reason that Dodge / Cummins was holding back was to be able to meet the non-CA emissions. Now that they have added some additional emission controls, it allowed them to let some of the untapped power out.

Neither of the two press releases say anything about whether or not the 600 has EGR. Only the good stuff. Gotta be a downside to it. In a perverse way, I kind of hope so. This announcement kind of takes the edge off the anticipation of my soon to arrive (hopefullY) '04 model with only 555 ft pounds of torque and only 305 hp. I'm already wondering if a mere computer re-flash will bump the puny old '04 HO up to the 600 specs??

Also interesting that DC has toned down their hemi "hype" to most powerful MASS produced pickup. Gets them around the fact that the 385 hp Lightning is faster than a hemi and MUCH cheaper and more available than the SRT-10. If you buy the Harley version, you can even get a four door!

Boy I wonder how much I'll lose on my 3 mo old with 10k miles? Just told the wife I was trading it in, she said no, but what she doesn't know won't hurt me!!! John

crossing into 3G zone

I sold my 2G yesterday and just dipped my toe into the 3G forums to find this 325/600 monster. Yes, I will need this power to fill the void in my driveway, the showplace of one man's ego. Now how about this package (or similar power values) in a Dakota?
