I had my 2004 Dodge 2500 engine truble light come on and when I checked the code the tool told me that it was a battery blanket heater sensor. Where is the blanket heater sensor located? and what dose it take to replace it?
The blankets aren't heaters, just insulative blankets. They moved the sensor during one of the early years of third gens. You may be able to follow the wire going under one of the batts.
on my truck its on passenger side underneath the battery box (under battery)
if you reach underneath u should feel it, its in the middle of the tray, and a few inches in from the turbo side
Do you have the latest SW for your truck? I kinda remember a problem with battery temp codes, flashing check engine lights where new S/W was installed to stop it all.
Ok and Thanks, I will check with the Dodge delear and see if there has been a change, I was a bit suprized that a Bat. heater proplem would show up as a check eng. light.
