Now I know what this is going to look like, another rip on a powerstroke etc. .

but its actually not, my girlfriends closest friend is dating a guy with a power stroke (stated above)

was talking with him a bit, hes slightly modded etc its a 6 speed, 2wd reg cab

says its makes like 374ish rwhp etc

so I told him Im in the market but for a cummins 12 valve, in particular the 98s :)

and I got a comment like this from him

keep in mind hes a nice guy and wasnt trying to **** me off or show off or anything, but one of his friends told him this

"yeah the 12 valve cummins has the least mod potential of almost all the motors, you can only do a few things with them, injectors, turbo and changing the pump(<---that one is funny), the motors with electronics have far more to do etc... . "

anyways just wanted to post here for everyone to see comment and understand how information is mixed up etc...

hes driving a powerchoke, enough said... . you should have asked him "well if the 12v is the least mod-worthy then WHY do almost ALL the pulling trucks use the 12v? OR why they use the 24v head with the P-pump??"

My best buddy just sold his 98 12v std cab long bed :{ then bought a house. But hes looking for another :D

darn kids will never learn..... OBVIOUS FACTS--- when you think big horsepower trucks (sheids, haisley, BBD, lucas (valvoline) dragster, etc... what motor do they run? exactly!

again never listen to a flower choke owner

yogi Im sorry I spelt it in correctly, I hope you can forgive me since it was about 3 in the morning after a long night out and a 10 hour workday... .

just wanted to clarify something, I wasnt knocking the ford owner, his friend was his source of information, it wasnt coming from him, he was just repeating it. But said hes looking to make around 500rwhp, so I guess after I get my truck we can see who gets there first. . lol and still have a motor intact

My brother in-law bought a 6. 0 also. his main reason was the 4-door (understandable... ).

I have to say though, the damn thing runs. Its totally stock, except a 120hp quad box. NOTHING else done to it, at all. Its a F-350 dually, with 4. 10's, and runs 15. 2 in the quarter easily (at 5200' altitude. . ). Most of the 3rd gen dodges around here have Juice's, trannys, intake and exhaust and only run 15 flat or so. Our track does suck, though.

My 12V will pull on him from about 35mph on. from 35-100 I can pull about 3 car lengths. But off the line, he kills me (auto vs. mauual  ).

anyways,

I still wouldnt have one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rides like crap, seats are uncomfortable, takes 5 lanes to pull a U-turn, etc.

Oh well, to each his own.

A friend of mine has a 2002 I think with a 6. 0 maybe a 2003 I don't remember. He has some kinda tuner thingy or box for it thats supposed to be an additional 100 hp or something and my 12v is faster. And my 24v with a clutch thats getting weak wins the tug-o-war every time. The only thing a powerjoke has that I wish I had was that low end turbo sound. Thats sounds cool. But form (read:cool sounds) follows function.

If he runs his Quad box on 70hp and doesnt spool off the line, my 12V is faster. But when he spools it, he leaves me at the line and It takes me the whole 1/4 to catch up.

If he puts it on 120hp, I never catch up (but I do close the gap significantly... )
