2004 or 2004.5

I'm new here and I'm sure that this question has been asked and answered a couple of times but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Anyway, how do I tell if my truck is 04 or 04. 5? thanks for your help

Look at the sticker in the door jam. If build date is 1/04 or later . its a 04. 5

I'll second jyoung13. If your want more proof look on the driverside of the valve cover it will show HP 325 if indeed it's a 04. 5, 305 if it's an HO.

How do you like the edge w/attitude? I've got a friend who has a local Freightliner shop that deals them and they have been bugging me to buy one!!



Won't be able to check on year model for my truck until June as I am working in Alaska until then! Oo.

Look on the valve cover driver side. It will say engine type on it. It also lists build date, serial #, and CPL(constrol parts list) #.

If its ISB 325/600 it's '04. 5 the other two motors were S. O. and H. O. 235 and 305Hp respectively, and were '04's

What about the California versions... they had cats too... I thought that was the reason for the SO version and HO version in 04 and the reason the SO (california model) was dropped in the 04. 5...

HO versions were not available in CA prior to 2004. 5, thats why I bought my 04 in OK and moved to South Carolina. Had a neighbor in CA who bought a HO in UT on vacation and eventually had to register in AZ at his sisters house cause CA DMV told he had 14 days to get it out of state. Glad I left CA after 20+ years nice weather but lots of PITA laws, like no way CWP in LA county Carrying here though.

That's what I meant... there were two motors... the SO had a cat IIRC... so just looking for a cat might not cut it... maybe looking for a cat on 4inch exhaust might??
