Competition Truckin Nationals in Phx.

I can sympathize with the little boys. I have absolutely the wrong truck to pull with but I love to pull and gladly donate my Hook Fee to the purse for just a hook :D. I can't afford another truck to pull with so I am stuck at the bottom. It would be nice to have more "street stock" trucks to pull against though. Alot of the pulls I participate at usually end up with "I can't believe a 2x4 pulled it that far!" "Did you see that 2 wheel, Better than I thought. " It's fun irregardless, and I'll gladly except last place for a hook :) .

Back to the point, of the pulls I have participated and attended there is "Street Stock" trucks and "Modified Street Stock" trucks. Not saying there is seperate classes but you can definetely tell the "Modified" trucks out front. Maybe there needs to be another class? What would it hurt? If there isn't enough trucks to make up the new class, then they run with the little or big boys the way it is now. I'd say most pulls I have been too, about 1/2 the street stock trucks are hot the other 1/2 not.

1. ) Street Stock

Stock charger, no internal engine work, Box and/or Injectors?

2. ) Modified Street Stock:

Single charger, internals? Box and/or Injectors, Traction/Ladder Bars? or is this PRO?

3. ) PRO: ?

Don't know?

4. ) OPEN: ?

Mithcell and Schied never ending battle!

I for one do not want to watch a class of 50 trucks that are stock. I pay my money to watch pure black coal rolling out and and hear the roaring growl of horsepower at its finest. If the classes make rules for the little guy so he can compete, I'm going to stay home and buy the video so I can FF over the slow trucks. If you can't run with the high horsepower crowd, either spend more money or compete at the county fair.

If you want a showroom stock class start one, but don't tell the higher hp crowd they can't pull in a street class because they make to much HP. They are street driven and should be able to pull as such.

Well since one can not control greedy show promoters payouts can and do suffer. I will be the first to agree with your comment about not getting all of your money back, been there done that. Am I a puller,I'll be the first one to tell you I don't. Too many different rules amongst the areas promoters and a local weekly promoter who could care less about diesel pickups pulling are among the reasons. Would I pull, certainly, although I will end up making more cleaning work for later    . I lost my race for nothing attitude along time ago and feel promoters are going to keep doing it to pullers until some one gets all the classes on one page.

Rules are a problem, but, without them safety is a concern and competitors will be lacking. While it is not a given on any night the biggest powered truck will win when outside factors are considered,it certainly would help the little guy if had a competitive class of his own where he may have a chance to win on a weekly basis. Stay in Pa,well maybe thats my answer... ... . Andy

P. S. -Loretta,when you hang around Gene to much you do end up being as windy as him ya know. I would certainly help your daughter do her reports as long as she does not bring one home like mine did. She had me searching for rainforest creatures and I learned not to go there..... :D :D :D .
