If your gonna wait till late '03 to get an '04, I have a lot of respect for your patience!! Is sure don't have any!

Usually August is when the new model year starts to be available, and so do the current year sell down rebates!!!

Waiting is the worst part... I ordered my '98 in February, and didn't take delivery until mid-June. That wait seemed interminable... My '01 only took about a month plus a couple days... I'd really like to get a new truck now, but waiting will probably be a better thing to do. These new trucks are impressive to say the least. LOL, at least I got plenty of time to decide on a color...

04

Evan, I too am waiting to get a 04. I want a 3500 drw 2wd with the high output and 48 re. As I do not want a EGR engine, it is going to be a tough call to get a 47re. I hope that DC makes an annoucement on this early enough to order one :)

Cheers, Bill

I will try to get an early '04 ( non EGR) with all the options. Make this my last new truck before the enviro-weenies ruin the later ones.

That's my reasoning too... Plus, I really want a dually. 2WD Quad Cab, loaded except for leather. Still can't decide on a color... A silver sport would be nice, but that graphite color is nice too... Then there is that red... Oh jeez, glad I got several months to think about it!

Black is nice too...

color

Evan, you can't get the graphite, I want the graphite :p

Seriously, I tried to build a 3500 with the graphite on Dodges' website, but kept getting a error meassage. Now, the choice of graphite is gone. . WTF? I seriously hope Dodge gives us more color choices!

Cheers

It's weird, because you can get the Graphite on a 3500 SRW, but not on a DRW. Figure that one out. *LOL* Hmm...

Silver, red, or black. It may be time to post a poll...

Paint restrictions on dually trucks are usually because the paint doesn't adhere well to the plastic rear fenders. All the other body surfaces are metal, of course.

Evan, I REALLY like the silver, BUT, when I stopped by the lot here in Kennewick with a coworker last week we noticed the paint on the silver trucks was noticeably blotchy and even very thin-looking in places. It wasn't just one truck, but all four of the silver ones on the lot. Based on that I would not order a silver one. The paint on all the other trucks looked first-rate however. Graphite looks very sweet. But then I still think Patriot Blue is an awesome color, picture that in a Sport :)

Cjackson:

That must be why graphite is not offerd in DRW. . Thanks for the explanation...

I have a Patriot blue 2500 right now. My boat is black and gray... ... . Hmmm... ... It might be time to get a black truck!

I thought the new trucks had all metel beds:confused: ?? I guess I was wrong. Either way, I don't buy the paint adhesion BS. They offer alot of colors on sport models with plastic trim... .....

I was told that it was because they don't sell as many DRW's and the beds are painted ahead of time- they don't want to stock that many color types so only the most popular colors are available. The SRW beds are the same on all 1500-3500 trucks so more are sold.

GM had paint adhesion problems with certain colors on the side of the boxes on the new style trucks. The whole side is plastic on the 3500s. The other problem that was noted by a friend with a new Chevy HD 3500 was that the box sides have a lot of flex without the metal sides for support. Buddies fifth wheel tailgate drops down from time to time. While the GM looks nice having seamless fenders built into the box sides, it does have its disadvantages. FWIW.

Gee, I like black too. Yeah it is a lot of work to keep it up, but hey, even if it didn't show, if I knew it was dirty I would wash it anyway. Besides, who ever heard of a red Batmobile.

Cheers, Casey

Color

Actually I was at the dealer today and what do they have, but a 3500 Drw 4x4 in Dark Garnet Red Pearl coat. I had never even considered this color before but :--)

Man was it sharp!! I believe that this might be my next color. With Taupe leather of course!

Cheers

BILLUA, after surfing today and looking at pictures there are a couple of combos I really like:

Patriot Blue/Silver with Laramie grille, light gray interior

Dark Garnet Red/Silver with Laramie, Taupe interior

Take a look at Big MAK's rig:

I can't tell what color his is. . . on my work PC it looks Patriot Blue, at home, Dark Garnet Red

Vaughn

ps: I have no plans whatsoever to buy a new truck. I love my current truck. I need to pay it off anyway. There is no need to replace it. But it doesn't hurt to dream about an '03
