I have noticed a slight issue that i think can become more. When i am driving and it gets into O/D right around 47 MPH. and if i get on it and let it spool up and accelerate around 55 - 60 MPH it feels like the Transmission is slipping and my truck vibrates alot more than normal. I called the dealer they want to charge me $55-$115 just to check it out. any help would be appreciated.

Post again with basic information needed for attempting to interpret the symptoms and offer advice.

How many miles on odometer? Is the truck modified with engine power enhancement or larger tires, etc. ? What work does the truck perform? Heavy towing, miles, frequency, etc. ? Service history and fluids, filters used?

Your slipping the TC clutch, STOP IT!!! :D

Rolling hard into the throttle at that low of rpm is a big no-no on a stock trans. The OE line pressures and clutch material is just barely adequate to hold in the best of circumstances and will NOT hold at low rpms when the TQ hits.

FYI, once the clutch slips it is done. It will just keep getting worse and worse and even slip a little where you won't feel it. Every time it slips it sheds a little more clutch material into the fluid and eventually the transmission.

More info would be helpful, but off the top of my head, my first thought is that the torque converter is slipping/chattering. My TC locks up right at 50 mph, and at that point I can roll the throttle on about 50% and still not have the trans downshift. My RPM doesn't swish up and down with throttle input when TC is in lockup mode. It acts much like a manual transmission over 55, since the clutch in the TC is a direct mechanical connection (via TC clutch).
The TC is a weak link in the 48RE trans. Mine was bad at 35,000, so I had my whole trans beefed up and had a triple disk billet converter put in. When the trans place (Goerend) cut open my old converter, they found that my clutch material had flaked off in several places, and was a few tows away from complete failure.

That was my experience. You may have something else wrong in the trans. Look up Goerend Transmissions and talk to Dave. He will have more input for you.

i have about 115000 Miles. I have a Smarty Jr. on it at 100 HP increase. It doesnt perform any kind of heavy work maybe once in a while. normal fluid change every 5k oil And i have to look into a trans flush though.

Smarty Jr at 100 hp will destroy the trans/torque converter. Even running unloaded with stock tires...

Do as MChrist suggested, get yourself an appt. with Goerend and dont forget your checkbook.

We figured out that for now all is was that it was a quart low. (i saw the fluid was burnt and found out that my Extension Seal pooped out on me. ) So i got a flush and checked it again and it is good to go. I dont feel the shutter anymore but i am done messing around for now until i have money to build my trans. Thanks everyone!!!! I love being apart of TDR it saves you money!!!

Back off the Smarty jr a notch or two. I never recommend that the Smarty jr be set on anything more than the first 40hp setting with a STOCK trans.

Not to be another bearer of bad news, but I see trans work in your future... Dave Goerend builds super strong transmissions, but also sells less expensive alternatives. When the time comes, and you are not going wild with power increases, Dave sells a single disc converter and general upgrades that a trans shop can install for you instead of rebuilding stock. Talk to Dave about it, he's a good guy.
