Does 10 qts of AF+4 seem right. I have 9 in it now and it's between the hole in the dip stick and the crosshatching marks. I'm thinking one more quart at least. Its checked after driving 15-20 miles in netural. I drained the pan and changed the filter. then added 9qts. I'm thinking the filter may not be totally submerged in the fluid. The transmission shifts fine and no smell. I dont want to overfill it.

Thanks

Whatever it takes to get it to the top of the cross hatch marks hot as that will make sure the filter is submerged. Don't be to worried about overfillling, these transmissions will run up to 2 quarts over full without problems. The only downside is parking it in an extreme nose down angle for a long time may see some seepeage from the vent. A nusisance, not a problem.

If you dropped the stock pan immediately after a shutdown, the stock pan will require approx 6 to 6. 5qts with a filter change. The DD adds 4 qts to that, so 10qts is about right.

The DD comes with a 2" standoff alum piece that mounts the filter approx 2" deeper in the pan, so you will not have any issues with the filter being totally submerged if you used the alum piece that came with the DD.

I don't drive my truck much except to tow and I had let my truck sit for a few weeks prior to adding the DD pan and mine took 14qts to refill because my TC drained into the pan during the time off (not running. )

Hope this helps,

Louis
