Of course that was the last thing checked. So to reprogram the key and have a new one made cost about $272

I think the dealers like the programmable keys more so than the customers. The fact that a key can become deprogrammed seems like a serious weak link in the functioning of a vehicle.

Hey, I forgot to fill everybody in on the cure for the problem. I had it towed to the local dealer and it turned out the the key had become unprogramed. Of course that was the last thing checked. So to reprogram the key and have a new one made cost about $272
