I have been chasing an engine vibration in my 05 4x4 6spd H.O. short bed quad cab for about 6 months. It varies but most noticeable at 2,000 to 2,400 rpm and at idle. Truck has 135K on it. I tow a 6 ton equipment trailer and plow with it.
Had an injector coil fail around 90K and replaced that one w/bosch re-man. It does have a towing chip that was on the truck when I bought it. Smokes upon heavy acceleration but always has.

I just replaced crank damper because oem rubber looked uneven and cracked but not completely shot. I chose the Fluidamper and it seems to have made zero difference in the vibration.

Been reading old posts and i'm thinking to go into the clutch after the dual mass flywheel and replace as necessary. But what troubles me is clutch works fine, engages, dis-engages, no chattering, no slipping??
I'm looking for guidance for replacement Single Mass flywheel & clutch choices based on TDR member experiences & opinions good and bad.
I want to get this right the first time !
Thanks,
A.N.

The DMF is definitely a place to look, they are susceptible to that problem.

The injector is just as likely. Replacing a set of factory with a reman is almost a guarantee to have some vibration and weird vibes at certain rpm's. These injectors needs to be matche dpretty close to keep the vibes to a minimum. One will cause problems if it is borderline on operation.
